CAMPAIGNERS hoping to stop the transfer of Gloucestershire health services out of the NHS have gone to London for a second day at the High Court.
Yesterday, February 8, Stroud pensioner Michael Lloyd, 75, made his case at the High Court against NHS Gloucestershire’s plans to transfer the county’s nine community hospitals, including the new Vale Community Hospital in Dursley, and local health services, to a Community Interest Company (CIC).
Today, February 9, it is expected that NHS Gloucestershire will make its case before the High Court makes a decision on whether or not the legal challenge will proceed to a full judicial review.
Mr Lloyd a retired railwayman, launched the legal challenge last year with the support of campaign group Stroud Against the Cuts.
