MOTORISTS commuting between Wotton-under-Edge and Dursley will need to find an alternative route next week.
The B4060 through Stinchcombe will be closed between Church Lane and Yercombe Lodge for seven days to allow for resurfacing.
The road closure will come into effect from this Sunday, February 19 and will be in place until the following weekend Sunday, February 26.
Motorists will be diverted through Charfield, along the A38 and up Tait’s Hill.
Chris Riley, Gloucestershire Highways manager, said: "Local diversions will be in place and the road will be closed to all traffic during the day to make sure the work is carried out safely, it will be open to all traffic at night.
"This work may cause some disruption to local traffic and businesses but I would ask for their patience during the planned period of work.
"We will do our best to keep the disruption to a minimum and if anyone has any concerns they can speak to a member of staff on site, who will be happy to help."
