Theatregoers in Thornbury to hold golf day to raise funds for new venue

THEATREGOERS in Thornbury are being asked to get out their golf clubs.

Arts and Community in Thornbury (ACT) will be hosting its second charity golf day on Tuesday, April 20 to raise money in aid of the community project to build a new arts and performance centre in Thornbury.

There will be three trophies up for grabs this year, including a trophy for the best mixed team, donated by patron Catherine Johnson, The Bond Girls Rosebowl donated by Bonds of Thornbury for the best ladies' team and a trophy for the best men's team donated by Gems of Thornbury.

The best overall score will win four tickets to the Welsh Open in June and there will also be a chance to win a car in a hole-in-one competition sponsored by Berkeley Vale Motors.

Tee times will start at 11am from both the 1st and 10th tees and the golf format for the day will be a Stableford Bowmaker.

The teams of four can be all men, all ladies or mixed, and the team entry fee of £140 includes coffee on arrival and a two-course buffet after the game.

Anyone interested in taking part, sponsoring a team, sponsoring a hole or providing competition prizes should contact Jackie Jackson on 01454 416421.
