SPRING really had sprung in Thornbury last weekend with the annual flower show.
Organised by the Thornbury Horticultural Society, the spring flower show had the usual array of colourful entries.
Displays included daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, pansies, primroses and polyanthus.
Other categories were photographs, home-made wine, biscuits, marmalade, sponges, and classes for local children to take part.
Ruth Kitson, from the horticultural society, said: "Spring has been very cold and reluctant to come this year so the judge for daffodils was pleasantly surprised to find some good quality flowers displayed for his attention.
"Entires in the show were the same as last years, the strongest sections being in flower arrangements, cookery, photogrpahy.
"At the close of the show, chairman Rex Davis thanked the show secretary Dot Culverhouse for her dedication, the rest of the hard working committee, and the loyal helpers doing the raffle, the teas and all the other chores."
