PEOPLE concerned about kebab vans operating along the A38 have been advised to contact the police.
Residents living in Alveston have for some time said they are worried about the disruption they claim is being caused by customers of the Rudgeway kebab vans.
However, police have now advised them that for any action to be taken there needs to be a record of complaints.
Speaking at the recent Thornbury and Alveston Safeer, Stronger, Community Group, PC Natalie Draper said the police had received no complaints from local residents about the vans in the last three months.
She said: "Since the last meeting we have heard nothing. If there is anything gong on, noise, parking problems and so on people need to let us know."
Cllr Brian Lee, from Alveston Parish Council, said: "People are getting so hacked off about it they think the police won’t take action.
"The parish council are trying to persuade people to call the police but there is a reluctance."
Local people have said their concerns include illegal and dangerous parking, littering, trespass, people using bushes and gardens as toilets, and noise levels especially late at night.
PC Draper said members of the public could either visit Thornbury Police Station or call 0845 456 7000 to report any concerns or problems they might experience.
