WEATHER did not dampen spirits at the 42nd Tytherington Horse Show at the weekend.
Despite heavy rain the annual gymkhana, held at Boyts Farm, attracted hundreds of spectators and dozens of competitors.
As well as the horse show visitors could also enjoy a raffle, refreshments and a skittle competition.
Sally Whelly, from the organisation committee member, said: "It went really well, slightly against the odds because we had been really worried about the weather. We set up in the pouring rain on Thursday night.
"Saturday was amazing with lots of support from the village and from further afield. The Tytherington show is one of very few remaining village horse shows but it still draws in a good crowd."
This year’s Tytherington Horse Show was raising money for the Jessie May Trust, a Bristol-based charity for children and young people with terminal illnesses. The amount raised is yet to be announced.
