Police issue new appeal following fatal crash in Wick

POLICE have reissued their appeal for information about a fatal crash at Tog Hill in Wick after a post mortem revealed two cars may have been involved.

Pedestrian Philip Davis, from Warmley, died in the accident on Sunday, June 28. The 74-year-old was walking along the A420 at 11pm when he was in collision with a silver Porsche car.

Police arrested the driver of the car, a 37-year-old man from South Gloucestershire, on suspicion of dangerous driving and his car was seized for forensic examination.

He has been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.

But now officers believe a second may have been involved and the driver failed to stop at the scene of the accident.

A police spokesman said: "A post mortem examination into the death of Mr Davis suggested that a second vehicle may have been involved but did not stop at the scene. It is possible the driver may not have realised what had happened.

"Police are keen for anyone with information to help police enquiries to contact them."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the collision investigation unit on 0845 4567000.
