WINTERBOURNE International Academy has been named on a list of high achieving specialist schools.
Formerly The Ridings’ High School, the academy is featured in the top 471 in a list compiled by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust.
Its inclusion means pupils at the academy have achieved a higher than average pass rate in GCSEs.
The academy had to achieve a 60 percent pass rate of five A* to C grade results including English and mathematics, 53.7 percent pass rate of two science subjects at A* to C grade and 31.6 percent pass rate of a modern foreign language at A* to C grade.
Elizabeth Reid, chief executive of the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, said: "These schools are enabling more young people to reach their full potential and succeed in the 21st century.
"It is important we celebrate these achievements as they are the product of hard work and dedication by school leaders, teachers and students."
