ALL the fun of the fair is coming to Chipping Sodbury this weekend with the return of the biannual Mop.
The helter skelter, merry-go-round and ferris wheel will move into the High Street this Friday, March 19 (6-10pm) and Saturday, March 20 (2-10pm).
There will be refreshment stalls, games and rides and the town’s shops will open as normal.
The Mop has returned to its traditional roots in recent years following a climax in trouble with underage drinkers in 2004.
Sgt Adrian Fallows said: "We want people to enjoy themselves but at the same time behave and be aware that misbehaving impacts on other members of the community. "We will conducting extra patrols and will deal positively with any young people who turn up to the fair drunk."
Sodbury Town Council has sent letters to local secondary schools warning pupils that the Mop fair is an alcohol free zone.
Broad Street will be closed to traffic during the fair, free parking is available in Wickwar Road car park.
