Outstanding results at Winterbourne International Academy

WINTERBOURNE International Academy was one of the region’s top performing schools today.

At the school, which is part of the Ridings’ Federation, 81 per cent of students achieved A* to C grades and 71 per cent achieved A* to C grades, including English and maths.

The school was also pleased to announce that 10 students achieved 10 or more A* and A grades.

These students were Sasha Ward, 9A*s and 1A, James Moncrief, 5A*s and 7As, Jonathan Barlow, 6A*s and 4As, Emily Curnock, 5A*s and 5As, Janet Durkin, 6A*s and 4As, Liam Grogan, 3A*s and 7As, Miles Hatfield, 5A*s and 5As, Kim Hill, 4A*s and 6As, Rachael Risdale, 4A*s and 6As and Laura Sims, 2A*s and 8As.

Rob Evans, head teacher, said: "I am delighted with this first set of GCSE results for the academy, which reflects the hard work and dedication of our students, the support of parents, carers and the excellent teaching of the academy staff.

"These results provide our students with the qualifications needed to access a range of Post-16 courses on offer at the new Federation Sixth Form."
