PLASMA screens could be on view in Yate’s main visitor centres to help promote events.

Officials from Yate Shopping Centre, the town council, library, leisure centre and West Gate Health Centre are meeting in September to discuss the proposal.

They will consider whether more plasma screens, like the ones already in operation in Yate Library, would be well placed in locations such as the forthcoming youth café, leisure centre and in the town's Tesco supermarket when it is rebuilt as an Extra store. The screens were introduced in the library after a £1.5million refurbishment and expansion project and are said to be working well. They are used to advertise upcoming events and meetings in Yate.

Librarians have said they would be happy to display information about the Tesco development, which is due to begin next week.
