I would like to ask M G Knight (News Shopper, August 8) if his no claim bonus is more important than another person's life?
As both a car owner and cyclist, I feel the most important issue is the wellbeing of all involved in a road accident and not next year's premium.
Am I to assume then, if in my car I cause an injury to another road user this is perfectly acceptable to you, as I have paid road tax and insurance for the privilege? What a repulsive concept. I doubt cyclists cause many accidents.
The thought of a two-ton car hurtling into your unprotected body tends to make you rather vigilant. Taxing cyclists is not the answer Mr Knight.
But, more respect for each other, however you're travelling on the roads, is.
