COTSWOLD Tourism has created a new seven-day circular cycling tour of the Cotswolds and Severn Vale.

Approximately 180 miles, the route takes in Stroud, Nailsworth, Berkeley, Painswick, Winchcombe, Burford and Cirencester, intended to be a week’s worth of cycling.

Each daily route of approximately 30 miles finishes at an attractive village or town accommodation hub.

The waterproof cycle map is available to buy from all Gloucestershire tourist information centres for £3.99.

Free downloadable supplements to support the guide are available at www.cotswolds.com and include information on accommodation, places to eat, points of interest and tourist information.

Stroud District Council’s tourism officer, Shirley Wood, said the aim was to make the Cotswolds one of the top three visitor destinations in England.

“We feel that making the area more cyclist-friendly will definitely help us reach that goal,” she said.

“Cycling has become more and more popular since the British success in the Olympics. We hope that this new guide will encourage cyclists to experience this beautiful area”.
