A CONSULTATION has been launched to decide whether a 17-metre stretch of road in Almondsbury should be given a 20 miles per hour speed limit.

South Gloucestershire Council has started the consultation after Bristol City council decided to reduce the speed limit of the majority of its residential roads to 20 miles per hour.

Due to the boundary between the two authorities and the fact that speed limit terminal signs are located 17 metres north of the boundary it is necessary for South Gloucestershire Council to implement the speed limit.

The 17-metre stretch of road, part of the B4055 Cribbs Causeway Road, crosses the boundary of the two authorities and would need to be changed due to proposals by Bristol City Council.

Comments on the consultation can be made before Monday, November 3.
