THE AGONISING wait is now over for A-level students at Marlwood School in Alveston who have now received their results.

Many students capped off a successful year in spectacular fashion after receiving brilliant grades and smiles were aplenty.

At least two pupils will be on their way to the prestigious University of Cambridge next year to further their studies.

One of them was Chris Wong, who achieved an incredible four A*s and will now be studying maths at Cambridge, he said:

“I didn’t think I’d get the results to get in. I tried to check for my results last night but it didn’t update so it’s great to finally have them.”

Robbie Cecere, 18, will be joining Chris after being accepted to study natural sciences at after getting three A*s including biology and physics.

He said: “I checked online this morning and couldn’t believe I‘d got in to Cambridge, coming in and picking up my results was just the icing on the cake.”

Eight per cent of students of Marlwood’s students managed to achieve at least one A*.

Head of sixth form, Trish Rosevear said: “We’re pleased with the results as a whole and we’re up on the number of top grades that our students are achieving.

“Staff are delighted with the outcome and we’ve now got two, and hopefully a third, going to Cambridge next year.

“A lot of students got their places, which is great and on the whole it has been very successful. The students have done very well and we’re continuing to get more of them in to university.

“Congratulations to all our students for their commitment and hard work over the last two years. All the staff wish all students well in their future endeavours.”
