TWO long-serving fundraisers for Thornbury-based charity Meningitis Research Foundation have stepped down after 25 years working with the charity.
A farewell dinner was held for the founder trustees, Angela and David Pick who had worked with the charity in Midland Way for quarter of a century.
Speaking at the farewell buffet with the charity’s staff, Christopher Head, the charity’s chief executive, said: “David and Angela have been with us since the very beginning.
"They have been a tremendous asset to the charity and we shall miss them, we are delighted they have agreed to become Honorary Patrons and know they will remain close friends and supporters.”
Angela recalled how a lorry driver saved a life after picking up one of the charity's symptoms information cards in a motorway services while David said he remembered raising £34 to start the charity by rattling buckets in the town’s pubs.
