A MAN and a woman were arrested yesterday morning after failing to stop for an officer.
The man who was being sought by police was in a Mercedes in Eastlands Avenue in Thornbury at about 9.30am on Sunday, October 5.
A police officer recognised the car which was connected to the wanted man and tried to stop it but the vehicle failed to stop.
He was joined by colleagues who pursued the vehicle, assisted by the police helicopter.
The suspect drove through the South Gloucestershire area towards Gloucestershire police force, exceeding speed limits before he was stopped in a field in the Dursley area at about 10.55am.
During the operation a number of vehicles, including a police vehicle, are thought to have been damaged by the car driven by the suspect.
The police are keen to hear from anyone who believes their vehicle may have been damaged. They are asked to contact the Priority Crime Team on the force number 101, quoting reference 93362/14.
Two people have been arrested and are being questioned by officers.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, failing to stop and other motoring offences.
A 24-year-old woman who was a passenger in the vehicle has also been arrested on suspicion of burglary and drug offences.
