ONE OF Bristol’s most highly regarded chefs has joined Old Down Estate as executive chef.
Chris Wicks, winner of the Lifetime Achievement award at Bristol Good Food Awards 2014 will lead the team in the kitchens at the 66-acre country park.
Chris said, “It’s an exciting time to join such a prestigious venue. We’re focusing on delivering superb food using only the finest local ingredients – some of which come from our very own Victorian walled garden, just metres from the kitchen.”
Head of business at the estate Carly Rudrum said, “We are delighted to have Chris Wicks as our Executive Chef. Chris is one of Bristol’s most admired chef’s and has built an outstanding reputation in The South West.
“Our special Sunday events are a great opportunity to enable people to come and try Chris’ wonderful food and take a look around The Manor and our beautiful gardens.”
