POLICE are re-appealing for the public’s help in identifying a man who they believe may have information about an armed robbery that took place a year ago in December.

The incident took place at McColls on Oakleaze Road in Thornbury Hill at around 9:30pm on Monday, December 30 2013.

At the time following the incident, an appeal for information was issued and numerous lines of enquiry were explored.

Now detectives investigating the incident are taking the opportunity a year on to re-appeal to the public to identify a man they would like to speak to.

Officer in charge, DC Clare Ball, said: “Nearly one year on from this ruthless armed robbery, the police investigation is continuing. I would ask everyone in the community to look at the image and think back to this time last year. If you saw anything or know this man, please come forward.”

A man entered the shop at approximately 9:30pm and approached a member of staff at the counter before demanding money from the till. When challenged, he produced a knife from the waistband of his trousers and threatened them. He left the store with the knife in his hand.

Police are releasing CCTV footage of a man who they believe would have been in the shop that the time who they believe may have useful information.

They would like anyone who recognises the man shown in the photographs or have any information about the incident to contact them.
