THORNBURY Museum has re-opened after its winter closure with a new exhibition on fire fighting.
But although it has a collection of artefacts on show, it is hoped to add to the display while it is running.
The volunteers who help keep the musuem open would especially like to have an old brass fireman's helmet loaned to them.
The exhibition uses photographs and documents to tell the story of how a regular fire brigade was established in Thornbury and follows the moves of the fire station to its various locations within the town.
Stories about the brigade, the men who fought fires and some of the major incidents tackled by the crews have also been featured.
The museum in Chapel Street is open from 1-4pm from Tuesdays to Fridays and from 10am-4pm on Saturdays.
