A NUMBER of businesses in Thornbury were evacuated following a gas leak this morning.
Ten firms based in Cooper Road had their premises evacuated for about two hours whilst the buildings were inspected.
Two crews from Thornbury Fire Station along with police officers helped evacuate staff from buildings along the road as well as setting up a cordon around the area.
The leak was contained by the gas board and people were allowed back into buildings after the cordon was lifted by 12.30pm.
