MEMBERS of the public are being offered the chance to name the latest arrivals to a popular wildlife attraction in Easter Compton.

A coalition of cheetahs arrived at Wild Place Project just in time for the Easter holiday.

They are living in the attraction’s new immersive Mahali Pori (Wild Place) National Park exhibit.

Since the cheetahs’ arrival, staff at Wild Place Project have been getting to know their individual personalities.

Will Walker, animal manager at Wild Place Project, said: “Each cheetah is displaying different characteristics, which sets him apart from the others in the group; this is great for the animal team to witness, as it means they have settled in well and their natural behaviours are developing.”

Wild Place Project has compiled a Top Trumps-style guide to help choose the right name for each Cheetah.

Once all of the entries have come in, staff at the local attraction will be reviewing the entries with the help of housing association, Merlin and the Environment Agency, who donated time and manpower to build the cheetah exhibit.

Faye Galvin, Merlin communications manager said: “We’re honoured to have been asked to judge the competition.

“Our apprentices, who thoroughly enjoyed helping prepare the cheetahs’ new home to ensure it was ready for their arrival, are very much looking forward to being involved in judging the entries.”

The competition is open for entries now and closes on Friday, May 22
