TO MARK the nationwide initiative Open Farm Sunday, Tortworth Estate will fling open its gates for a special day of events.
The main event of the day is a guided tour of the 300-cow organic Elmtree Farm which focuses on grass feeding.
Those who take the opportunity to go on the tour will have a tractor and trailer ride from the Estate Farm Shop to the farm before being guided around the farm.
Last year’s event saw more than 1,000 visitors visit the estate and organisers are hoping for a similar turnout this year – weather permitting.
A whole host of other attractions, including farm demonstrations, a falconry display and number of children’s activities will also be held throughout the day.
Tortworth Primary School’s spring fair will be run in conjunction with the event.
Gates open at 10am with the day’s proceedings officially kicked-off by BBC Points West presenter Alex Lovell at 11am. Entry and parking is free.
