RAPIDLY expanding Pilning building firm Helm Construction has announced five new appointments in a response to a steep increase in work.

Mark Witheridge has been appointed contracts manager while Peter De’Vanney joins as a site manager. Stephanie Munro joins the office team as trainee administrator and Tahir Hinds and Joshua Purnell will join Helm as site labourers.

Chief executive Gary Sheppard said the new appointments had been prompted by a rapid increase in both residential and commercial work around the region.

“We’re determined to change the image of building firms for the better and are confident these new appointments will help us achieve our aim.”

An industry professional with more than 30 years experience, Mark Witheridge brings extensive knowledge of both commercial and residential sectors from new build to renovation.

Meanwhile, construction professional Peter’s specialism is stone masonry and brickwork. He holds a BA (Hons) and has worked on a number of successful projects.

Mr Sheppard added: “Peter brings a wealth of experience in the construction sector and is also a fully qualified stone mason, which gives us another core skill to offer clients.

Also joining the team this year, Stephanie has aspirations to develop a career in business administration and finance.

“And with a number of years’ experience in construction, Tahir and Joshua will help ensure our sites are well maintained and kept in a good professional order.”
