TALENTED pupils at a primary school in Oldbury-on-Severn were presented with prizes for designing the front cover for the village’s incredibly popular annual fun run.

The winner, who will see their design on the programme for the event on Sunday, June 28, was 11-year-old Jasmine Greenwood.

The runners up were Charlotte Jones, 10 and Grace Clark, 8. All three were presented with book tokens for their impressive efforts.

Many of the pupils at Oldbury-on-Severn Primary School will be taking part in the run and event organiser Chris Awde said that it was great to see their enthusiasm for the race.

He said: “All of them said that they can't wait to run and all said they expected to win!”

Registration opened on the 1st April and already 100s of runners have registered for the race which starts at 11am.

The day’s main attractions are undoubtedly the two races, one for race runners and one for under 13s, fun runners and walkers.

Each competitor is given a electronic tag which tracks their race time.

More than £65,000 has been raised by the annual event to date with the majority given to CLIC Sargent and some going to local good causes.

This year, organisers are expecting more than 1,000 participants with hundreds more expected to flood the village for the event’s family day which features a range of food stalls, a car display and live music.
