RAINBOWS got creative on Father's Day, making cards and clocks to give as gifts to their dads.

The girls, aged five and six from Pilning and Alveston, made the working clocks from old records.

Although the girls and their teenaged young leaders really enjoyed making their clocks, they remained unconvinced after being taught what a record was, and still doubt that it really could play music.

Rainbow leader Sara Messenger said: “When we asked the girls what they loved most about their daddies it was heart-warming to hear that it wasn’t expensive toys or trips that topped the list but cuddles and making them laugh.”

Girl guiding still remains hugely popular and are looking for more volunteers of all ages and abilities. If you or your daughter are interested in joining visit www.girlguiding.org.uk/get_involved/volunteer/register_your_interest.aspx
