A VET charity shop in Thornbury will benefit from a new campaign being backed by celebrities.

Celebrities including fashion guru Gok Wan and model Penny Lancaster are urging people to donate unworn clothes to PDSA as part of a campaign launched on July 7 to help poorly pets.

A number of famous figures such as comedian Russell Kane, TV personalities Alesha Dixon and Fearne Cotton, and Coronation Street star Sarah Harding are also encouraging people to make a donation.

Funds raised through the Vet Your Clothes campaign will support the treatment of sick and injured pets in the local area.

Gok Wan, who has donated a pair of designer jeans which he wore on Comic Relief Does The Apprentice, said: “If you haven’t worn something in the past year, the likelihood is that you never will, so please do something amazing and support PDSA.”

PDSA Clifton shop manager John Timmons said: “We really appreciate any support and we’re encouraging people to think before they throw away what could be a lifeline for poorly pets.”

The campaign aims to boost stock donations at the UK’s leading veterinary charity’s 160 shops across the country.

People are being encouraged to donate as much or as little as they can to their nearest PDSA Shop and share their support on social media using #vetyourclothes.
