VINTAGE car-lovers are gearing up for a rally day in Tortworth this weekend.

The Tortworth Vintage Rally will take place on Saturday and Sunday, on the Tortworth Estate showground off the B4509, Wickwar.

The event will see numerous exhibits on offer to visitors including vintage and classic cars, commercial and military vehicles, motorbikes, and tractors.

Various models and collections will also be display including a selection of miniature steam engines.

Rally organiser Keith Shakespeare said: “This is the second rally day we have organised for the summer holidays, we normally hold the event in July but the weather is normally quite wet so we hope for a better outcome this year.

“There will be loads going on, and lots for the whole family. We will have a 1940s themed tea-room during the event, where staff will be dressed in 1940s styled clothing while music from the era is playing, as something different to add to the show.

A dog show will also take place during both days, organised by Birch Hill Dog Rescue, with the opportunity for the public to enter a variety of classes.

There will also be arena events including displays by the Celestine Dog Agility Team to entertain visitors.

The show opens at 10am on both days.
