A NEW networking event is set to come to Bristol after Gloucestershire County Cricket Club (CCG) entered into a partnership with a nationwide ‘business dating service’.

The event, hosted by The Catena Network, will focus on the business opportunities the success of women’s professional sport offers.

Catena Cricket is partnering with county cricket clubs to grow the Catena Network across the UK, with the aim of connecting businesses across the regions and giving the opportunity for businesses to start to establish relationships with elite sports clubs, whilst providing a different networking experience.

Claire Bicknell, owner and founder of Catena Cricket, said: “I’m really looking forward to the Catena event at Gloucestershire CCC – it’s been an exciting summer of cricket with an Ashes series for both England’s men and women’s teams.

"We have a good number of businesses registered to attend this event, with businesses travelling from Cardiff and the East Midlands to attend. This truly displays the ethos of Catena: connecting businesses across the regions.”

Iain Wain, sales director at Gloucestershire CCC, said: “We want to welcome as many businesses in to Bristol as possible to sample the facilities on offer at the ground.

“I feel the backdrop of cricket offers a unique space for businesses to meet, be creative and network.”

The event’s guest speaker will be Helen Bailey, owner of independent strategic market research consultancy, Aviatrix, a business has developed an expertise in marketing to women.

The event will take place on Wednesday, September 16 at Gloucestershire CCG, Nevil Road, from 6pm.
