A SEVERE weather warning has been issued for South Gloucestershire and parts of Gloucestershire with heavy rain and lightning expected tonight and throughout Wednesday.
The yellow warning has been put in place from 9pm tonight until 6pm on Wednesday by the Met Office.
They are warning the public of possible disruption to public transport and the potential for local surface water flooding.
Lightning is an additional hazard the Met Office is warning people to be aware of.

The Met Office’s chief forecaster said: “A frontal wave is expected to move in from the southwest later today, bringing some heavy rain to southern England.
“Whilst there remains some uncertainty in the exact location of the heaviest rainfall, accumulations of 20-40 mm could be possible quite widely within the warning area, whilst 50-60 mm is possible in one or two places.”
