THORNBURY and District Museum has organised two walks as part of the national heritage weekend later this month.
‘Thornbury and the Railway’ takes place on Saturday, September 12, at 2pm from the roundabout at the junction of Morton Way, Midland Way and Grovesend Road.
The walk will trace the route of the branch line which ran from Yate to Thornbury and reveals what remains of the evidence of the railway’s existence.
The traditional ‘Borough Boundary Walk’ takes place on Sunday, September 13, starting from the museum in Chapel Street at 2pm.
Both walks are free but numbers are limited and tickets must be obtained from the museum in advance by calling 01454 857774.
