A MOTOR neurone disease charity hopes to raise funds and awareness at their first fundraising walk event in Badminton.

The Gloucestershire brance of Motor Neurone Disease Assocation (MNDA) will host its first ‘Walk to D’feet’ event on the grounds of Badminton Estate tomorrow.

Families are set to join in with the walk – with a choice of three planned routes – which aims to raise money and support people who have motor neurone disease.

The event will also raise awareness of the incurable and fatal neurological condition.

Secretary of the local branch, Sharon Issacs said the event is a great opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to make a real difference in the fight against MND.

“I am thrilled that we have great support for this national event,” she said.

“Without the amazing support of local people we simply would not be able to provide the vital support services and fund research to find a cure.

“Together we are making a real difference for people affected by this devastating disease.”

The Gloucestershire branch of MNDA is dedicated to the support of people with MND and those who care for them.

They fund vital aids, provide a visitors service and support group as well as enable research to understand the cause, how to diagnose it and how to effectively treat it so they it no longer devastates lives.

Everyone is welcome to join in with the walks and can register by visiting justgiving.com/walktodfeetgloucestershire.
