DOG-OWNERS will learn about their animals and the law at a special seminar in Charfield next month.

The ‘Dogs Law Seminar’ will take place at Charfield Memorial Hall, with speaker and specialist dog law solicitor Trevor Cooper.

The event is being hosted by Dursley-based South West Dog Training Behaviour Centre.

Centre instructor Liz Nash said: “We feel it is very important for dog owners to know about the law and how it can affect them. We are seeing more dogs with behaviour problems, whether it is aggression to people, other dogs, noise nuisance etc.

“Even a friendly dog that jumps up at people could cause a problem within the law, in certain circumstances.

“Hopefully we never encounter a problem, but should we find ourselves in legal trouble because of our dog the leading solicitor for help would be Trevor Cooper.”

The seminar will include a wide-ranging mix of legal issues which are important to dog-owners such as responsibilities, buying and selling dogs and liability.

The event costs £20 per person and will take place on Sunday, October 25 from 10am to 1pm.
