A FORMER Almondsbury student who set up a business in his parents’ room is donating money from his bestselling product to charity.

Paul Randall, 30, who has a warehouse in Thornbury, set up online furniture store Rainbow Zebra from his family home four years ago.

The former Almondsbury School student has now signed up to be a corporate partner of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), which provides care for terminally ill children and their families.

He said he hopes to raise hundreds of pounds with sales of his Vista Orthopaedic chair.

“I’ve started from humble beginnings but now my business is on track to grow and I wanted to give something back to the community,” he said.

“I saw CHSW hold a fundraising Rainbow Run on The Downs and the colourful headline, which resonates with my company, got my attention.

“I then saw all the great work the team at CHSW do and knew I wanted to get involved, especially as they rely almost voluntary solely on donations.

“I have visited their grounds in Wraxall, which are beautiful, and seen the difference it makes to families’ lives during what must be a difficult time. It’s a pleasant environment where people can get the support they need.”

Paul will donate five per cent from the sale of each of the fully adjustable chairs, which can be pumped up to offer greater support at the base of the back as needed.

Kate Fisher, corporate partnerships fundraiser for CHSW, said: “It’s fantastic that Paul Randall and everybody at Rainbow Zebra will give donations from their product.

“Such continued, committed support means we can work into the future to support the 186 families at Charlton Farm every year.”
