THE step-brother of Bristol schoolgirl Becky Watts has admitted manslaughter after confessing to killing the teenager.
With the murder trial underway, the jury has been told that 16-year-old Becky was suffocated in her bedroom despite fighting for her life.
Her body was found dismembered in a garden shed in Barton Hill in March this year after she disappeared from her St George home 11 days earlier.
Becky’s step-brother Nathan Matthews stood in the dock with his girlfriend, Shauna Hoare, and pleaded not guilty to murder, but admitted to police he had strangled her.
The couple stand accused of planning to kidnap the teenager before murdering her and hiding her body.
Also in the dock are Jamie Ireland, 23, of Richmond Villas, Avonmouth and Donovan Demetrius, 29, of Marsh Lane in Barton Hill who are accused of assisting an offender.
