A KITCHEN fire broke out in a house in Earthcott Green last night.

No-one was injured in the blaze, which is believed to have started accidentally after a fault with a fridge freezer.

It happened just before 8.30pm when Avon Fire and Rescue Service was alerted and sent two crews, one from Yate and one from Patchway, to the scene on Latteridge Road.

Fire service spokeswoman Stephanie Mounsey said: “Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a high pressure hose reel and CO2 extinguishers to extinguish the fire.

“A positive pressure ventilation fan was also used to clear the smoke.”

She added: “It is thought that the fire was started accidentally after a fault with the fridge freezer.

“Fortunately no-one was hurt.”
