FOLLOWING an appeal in an article in last month’s Gazette, a long lost bracelet has made its way back to its rightful owner after 40 years.

Lindsey Pollastrone (née Williams), who now lives in Chippenham, lost the silver christening bracelet when she lived in the Little Bristol area of Charfield, but had it returned this weekend.

The bracelet, discovered in a field by Nick Keeler of the Severn Vale Historical Research and Detecting Society, was identified by its inscription “Lindsey Maria Williams” which Mrs Pollastrone’s relatives recognised in the article.

“Everyone was talking to me about a bracelet that someone had found with my name on, but it wasn’t until I saw that I knew it was mine. It all came flooding back,” said Mrs Pollastrone.

“It has all been really weird but brilliant, I just couldn’t believe how having it has brought back so many wonderful memories.”

“The bracelet is a bit bent from all that time, but I don’t want to get it straightened again because it tells such an amazing story the way it is.”

“While the bracelet doesn’t fit anymore, as I lost it when I was seven years old, it’s still amazing to have it back. I keep going to look at it, putting it down, and then coming back to look at it again.”

“I would like to thank Nick for his efforts in getting it back to me as well as my cousin Emma for putting us in touch.”

Nick Keeler said: “I’m really pleased that it has been returned to her after all these years. It has clearly brought back a lot of happy memories for her.”

He added: “SHRADS have managed to find a number of items of personal value like this and it is always a nice feeling to reunite someone with what they might have once lost.”
