TRADE tools and hardware products retailer Screwfix will be open for business in Thornbury next week with the opening of its new store.

The new branch, based on Midland Way, opens on Thursday, February 4 and has already employed 12 people from the Thornbury area.

As part of the store’s opening, Screwfix are holding a free-to-enter screw drilling competition for tradesmen and DIY enthusiasts to demonstrate their professional skills, with a 40 inch smart TV as the prize for the winner. 

Abigail Bradley, the store’s new manager said: “Our new team includes people of all ages and levels of experience, but the most important requirement is that they have the right attitude and can offer superb customer service.”

She added: “I’m confident that we’ve got a great location here in Thornbury. My team and I have already been out and about getting to know local businesses and tradesmen and we’ve all been struck by how friendly everyone has been.”

“We’re keen to welcome tradesmen and DIY enthusiasts from Thornbury and the surrounding local areas to our new store.”

The store will be open Monday to Friday 7am to 8pm, Saturday 8am to 6pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm.

Throughout the store’s launch celebration period from Thursday 4th February and through the weekend until Sunday 7th February, all product ranges will carry a 10 per cent discount as well as other store specific special offers.
