A FLATSCREEN TV was stolen during a burglary on Tuesday while the homeowners were out visiting an ill relative in hospital.
Police believe the house on Jubilee Drive in Thornbury was attacked between 5pm and 8pm, with the residents returning shortly after to find their home left in a mess, and the television gone.
No other items have been reported as being taken.
“We don’t believe this incident is linked to the spate of break-ins before Christmas as they were previously taking jewellery, and this is the only time that a TV has been taken,” said Thornbury beat manager PC Sean White.
“We are hoping it was a one off, but we want to issue the same warnings that we have recently been issuing, to keep the lights on in the house when you are out to give the impression someone is home.”
“Seeing someone exit a house with a television is quite a noticeable sight so we hope someone who saw something will come forward.”
Anyone with any knowledge of the break-in are advised to contact police on 101.
