AN ATTEMPTED child abductor from Bristol has been jailed for two and a half years.
Amin Hussein, 35, of Shamrock Road, Easton, was sentenced at the end of last week after being found guilty at an earlier trial at Bristol Crown Court.
He attempted to abduct a 10-year-old girl from the Tesco store in the Eastgate shopping centre on February 22.
DC Lorne Savage said: “Firstly, I would like to commend the courage of the victim in this case. She has shown true tenacity and bravery when faced with a very dangerous situation.
“Hussein approached the girl and started to talk to her before asking her to leave the store with him. He then grabbed her clothes before she screamed and alerted her mother and sister.
“He then made a series of threats towards the victim and her family.
“He was arrested shortly afterwards.
“This was a serious incident and one which I would urge all parents and children to take a lesson from – when approached, the young victim screamed the place down and alerted all those around her.”
