INJURED Thornbury student Lewis Evans is set to be moved from his hospital bed in Zante to the Greek mainland for further treatment.
The 18-year-old, who was left in a critical condition after a quadbike he was riding hit a tree, has received surgery for his ruptured spleen, but is in need of intensive care and further medical attention on holes in each of his lungs.
It will be up to the Greek authorities as to how Lewis will be transported, likely to be either by road and ferry or by air.
The family have renewed their fundraising appeal, as they try to gather £30,000 to pay for medical and transport costs, after Lewis’ insurer refused to pay out.
The family have already raised nearly £12,000.
