A GIANT jigsaw has been made by pupils in Alveston to celebrate and explore the school’s “British” values.

The many pieces, which are going on display in the public areas of Marlwood School, were created to reflect the pupils’ values, viewpoints and beliefs along with the activities that explore them.

The background of the combined jigsaw makes up the Union flag, with every piece also proudly displaying the Marlwood badge.

The core values for the idea, which follows on from a similar project where students created a mosaic to highlight the school’s “Working Together For Excellence” ethos, are also set to go on display on notice boards around the school.

Marlwood head teacher James Pope said: “There is so much great work that our staff and students are engaged in that is firmly rooted in our values as a school and community.

“I think that it is important that we recognise and celebrate this in a display that celebrates both diversity and belonging.”
