A SHOP in Cribbs Causeway has supported Southmead Hospital’s charity Christmas appeal.
John Lewis has put together a festive room display at the hospital, featuring cosy armchairs and photographs.
The snug area is located in the hospital’s Brunel building, where the public can sit down to take a selfie for charity.
The selfies are posted online using #SHCXmas with a donation to the charity appeal.
All of the money goes towards buying a present for every patient and baby who is in hospital at Christmas, so that everyone has something to unwrap.
A spokesman for the Southmead Hospital charity appeal page said: “For most of us Christmas is a special time of year, but some people will have to spend it away from their families and their home, in hospital.”
The hospital is also hosting its Great Brunel Buskathon Christmas Special at the hospital from noon today (December 1), to collect donations.
A young Bristol-born soprano Laura Curry, and pianist Sandie Middleton will perform at the launch, and following this live music performances will take place most days in December.
Performers from the Buskathon will also play at the Cribbs Causeway John Lewis store on Saturday, December 10, and Sunday 11.
