A THORNBURY Scouts group will stand out when delivering Christmas cards to the community thanks to a donation of high-visibility vests.
Specsavers opticians on St. Mary’s Way, Thornbury, donated 100 vests last night to ensure the group will stay safe during their Christmas activities - which includes helping deliver local Christmas cards to the community.
Group leader for the 3rd Thornbury Scouts group, Tony Cockwell, said: “We are delighted to receive this donation from Specsavers and look forward to seeing the Scouts look very smart and visible as they spread Christmas greetings through the streets of Thornbury.”
Store director, Mark Walker said: ‘We were more than happy to help the Thornbury Scouts group. Hopefully this will ensure motorists and the local community can see the children more easily over the Christmas period and take care when driving in town.”
