FIREFIGHTERS were called to a bungalow on Northern lane in Almondsbury following reports of a fire at 8pm last night.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown but it is believed to have been started accidentally.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a high pressured hose reel and jet to tackle the fire.

They also used a ventilation fan to clear the property of smoke, which caused "significant damage" to the property.

A 72-year-old woman was assessed by paramedics at the scene.

Three fire crews attended the scene from Patchway and Southmead.
