BAKERS and cake lovers are being sought out to take part in a month-long fundraising campaign for St Peter’s Hospice.

The 2017 instalment of the Ready, Steady, Bake campaign, which is set to take place throughout the whole of March, is calling on supporters to take to the kitchen, hold tea parties, cake sales and coffee mornings to raise money.

All 50 of the charity’s shops, including Thornbury, Yate, Chipping Sodbury and Winterbourne, will be taking part, keen to match last year’s campaign which raised £10,000.

The shops will also be selling special “Great Bake Packs” which include baking essentials to help participants get started.

“What better way to get everyone smiling at school, work or home than with a cake sale or tea party?” asked St Peter’s Hospice community fundraiser Petra Littlefair.

“During March, people across the area will be getting into the baking mood to help raise funds for St Peter's Hospice. Whatever you bake or buy, whether you use your best vintage china or paper plates, all the money raised will help local families living with terminal illness.

“Those who register their cake sale or tea party with us will receive free party goodies. We raised an amazing total last year and people really got behind it, so we’re hoping for the same this year.

“If you don’t want to hold a party yourself, keep an eye out for cake sales taking place at your local shop or simply pick up a Great Bake Pack which will make a lovely addition to your kitchen or a great gift for a friend.”
