A SPATE of cars were damaged in one night in Frampton Cotterell and Coalpit Heath.

Ten vehicles were reported to have been damaged in the early hours of Saturday, March 11, with some having their tyres slashed and others having their wing mirrors knocked off or windows smashed.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and information in relation to the damage, which happened in Hithermead, Kelbra Crescent, Lower Chapel Lane, St Saviour’s Rise and Wylington Road in Frampton Cotterell, and in Fernleaze and The Causeway in Coalpit Heath.

A group of five men were reported running away from two of the locations, and police are looking for information that could lead to them tracking down those responsible.

Neighbourhood PCSO Bethany Harrington said: “Having your car taken off the road for repairs is a major inconvenience and many of these people rely on their vehicles to get to work or access services.

"On top of that there’s a financial impact for those whose cars have been damaged."
