HOPES of a scorching hot Easter weekend have been dashed by weather forecasters.

Although many people enjoyed scorching weather last weekend, the Easter bank holiday is set to be cooler, cloudier and even rainier.

Good Friday is set to be largely cloudy with sporadic outbreaks of rain for much of the day. There may be occasional brighter spells during the day, which will feel warm. The maximum temperature will be 14C.

The outlook for Saturday to Monday is mainly dry, with variable amounts of cloud and some sunny spells. Sunshine, when it does come out, will feel warm, but some chilly nights are possible.
