A COMPETITION has been launched to name a new retirement home complex in Thornbury, with the winner to receive £100.

The development by Churchill Retirement Living, which was granted planning permission earlier this year to build on the site of the former South Gloucestershire Council offices, will feature 57 retirement apartments and five cottages.

To celebrate the new site, Churchill have launched the competition, with residents asked to submit their best ideas for a name.

Entrants are reminded that all names of Churchill retirement developments end in “Lodge”, such as Grace Lodge, which is built on the site of the old Thornbury police station. If more than one person suggests the winning name, the victor will be drawn from a hat.

To enter, send the suggested name and the reason for it, along with your name, address and phone number to: Tracy Evans, Thornbury, Naming Competition, Freepost, Churchill Retirement Living.

Entries close on Friday, September 22.
