WHEN it comes to a new beginning and the challenges that inevitably follow, are you the kind of person to make big changes, or prefer to keep the status quo?

Either way, they are great opportunities for a fresh perspective, to see how everything works, and more importantly, how well they are working.

This is very much the case with Angie Browne in her new role as interim head at the Castle School in Thornbury. An unbiased, objective and fresh perspective that can see things are they are.

The real question then, regardless of what you find, is - what do you do about it?

If you find existing success, how do you go about maintaining that, while seeking higher standards that do not compromise other areas?

If you find problems, how do you tackle them in a way that inspires similar action in those who should have made the changes sooner?

Thankfully, The Castle School is very much a success, but that doesn’t mean that Ms Browne has any less of a task before her over the next year.
